I hope someone can help me. I have been trying to print from Lightroom 4 on to canvas via my Canon Pixma Pro 9000 MK II printer. I load the canvas into the printer via the front try no problem but whenever I try to print I get an error code 1281 come up and it will not print. I can print via the front try using Canon’s Easy Photoprint which came with the printer but by doing this I cannot control the size correctly or soft proof the image first.
I have tried contacting Canon UK but they were not very useful as the person I spoke to did not know much about Lightroom and only suggested printing using the layout mode in Easy Photoprint. This still does not help with soft proofing the image first.

I bought this printer so that I could print A3+ images and canvases but so far it is not working out too well.

Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this problem.

when I print canvas on my R2400 I attach a small (2 inch) long bit of glossy paper across the edge of the canvas. I use scotch tape to attach. then I use a custom size in photoshop to add the 2 inches on to the paper size. so instead of A3+ (13x19inches) I have a canvas of 13x21 inches.

The printer grabs the glossy paper and pulls through the canvas then the printer has no problem in moving the canvas through after that.

I tried adding a 2 inch strip to the top of the canvas but it didn't work. I cannot print on any paper using the front try through Lightroom.
