Printers?? Please recommend??

Hi there,

As it says in the title really...can anyone recommend any really good quality printers??? I currently do not have a printer that is specifically for printing out pictures and I have decided that it is time that I pull my finger out and buy one. I have been looking at the Canon range so far and there are so many different models (alongside other things/numbers that I have no idea what they mean) that I soon got confused and gave up.

I want one that is very reasonable price-wise, inks which are not too expensive, can produce high quality/ resolution images, fantastic colour, wi-fi, built in memory card readers etc?

Do you know what size printer do you want? Is it A4 or something bigger?
I'm using Epson R285 (A4) and I'm very happy with results. At work we are using Epson Stylus pro 3800 for up to A2 and I like this one the most, Epson 7800 and 7900 for 24" rolls and 9880 for 44" rolls.
Bigger the printer, lower the print cost is.

If you're only wanting up to A4 then I can recommend the Canon Pixma iP4700 (think it's been replaced now by something like the 4850?
I have a 4700 and a 4500 and have been really pleased with both of them.

I've just bought a Canon MP640. I know they're being phased out by the new MPxxxx models, but I got a good deal and it does everything I need it too (inc duplex printing) and it works well. Could be worth a look as stores may be looking to get rid of old stocks
