A few years ago, prior to having a decent camera I bought an epson r300 printer.
when I first bought it it produced excellent results but quality of prints suffered if it was only used occasionally, the heads would become blocked and the prints had lines in them etc, this was annoying especially when printing on decent paper. As a result of this I sold it and bought a Mono laser printer

I now find myself wondering if colour printers have improved and would it be a worthwhile investment, if the same problems exist then maybe not.

can anyone share their experiences and maybe recommend a decent colour printer ?

thanks

Most inkjets will block if only used occasionally, that is the nature of liquids, the water will evaporate and leave the pigment behind. Just print something that uses all the colours every few weeks, doesn't need to be a photo, just a simple multicoloured word would do.

Hi

I went from an Epson that I wasn't overly happy with (and had similar issues with blocked heads etc) to a Canon iP printer, the difference striaght out the box was evident and I've been very pleased with it since.

As an additional bonus at the time, my Canon printer had a dual paper input - the Epson was just rear feed, this meant I could leave standard paper in the front tray for general printing / daughters home work etc and place photo paper in the rear tray when needed.
