Print slightly too small for mount

I bought a frame with a 12x8 mount from Togsprint (very nice btw), and at the same time had a 12x8 photo printed at DSCL. However, on trying to put the two together, the photo is ever so slightly less wide than the mount, leaving a gap where you can see the backboard.

What are my options for getting it to fit? The best solution for me would be to have the photo printed again, with the photo at 12x8 but with some kind of border around it, but does anywhere offer this?

Failing that, I suppose I could make a new mount, or stick some creamy coloured paper onto the backboard of the frame to fill the gap.

Ideas welcome!

you solved it...back it with some photo paper which is bigger and then trim

Well someone must be wrong surely

So measure them both accurately, and get the wrong one to redo it for you to the right size

I tend to find that the print is right and the framer wrong, especially as my framer makes his mounts too small by a couple of mm to ensure the print fits it properly; so my guess is Togsprint made the error, and I'm sure if so that Lee will kindly replace the mount with one of the right size :)

Hi Alfa

Not a problem - if you haven't sorted it already! We tend to leave 1/8" all the way round the mount as an overlap, therefore the print has a little margin for error all the way round.

Steve will happily cut you a mount if you need one cutting :)
Just email him (info@togsprint.com) and we'll sort it.

Cheers :)
