Hi all i have taken several pictures that i would like to print at 9x6 size . Im going to nip and get them printed at a store but before doing so should i crop them to a certain size if so what size ? Im only using canons free dpp at the moment. I can select an aspect ratio or enter a size in mm . Sorry to sound . Never printed my shots before.

Size 9x6 into mm is 228.6 x 152.4

Crop at 300dpi and it should give you the exact size.

Thanks, if a picture is cropped to a different size what will happen whe its printed? Ive got some old snaps but they were cropped to suit the image rather than print, :bang:

If you are using Photoshop (or any other similar software) make a canvas to the nearest print size,(if you are printing through a lab) EG. your image size is 7x3.5 inches then you would make a canvas size of 8x6 inches and drop your 7x3.5 inch image onto that canvas and order an 8x6 print. Or whatever size required.
