Here's the problem. Printer is an Epson XP530 printer/scanner/copier. Both computers are running the latest version of Win10. The printer is wireless but........ the desktop is hardwired to the router and from there it's wireless to the printer. The laptop is connected via usb. This is because the laptop used to have a problem networking and needed a lot of prodding to see the desktop and the printer. Since the last update the ability to see the desktop has resolved so maybe it'll connect wirelessly to the printer as well. I haven't actually tried.
The printer isn't used a lot for printing - it's mainly scanning. A few days ago I had to print a document but from the desktop nothing happened except an error message (error printing - very useful, no clue to what the error was). Because I was in a hurry I just went to my laptop, picked the document up on that and printed it - no problem. I haven't been able to resolve this. I've done the obvious (run the windows troubleshooter, restarted the computer) - nothing doing. The desktop and printer are talking to each other because scanning works faultlessly, I just can't print. It could be a driver problem but I haven't had time to dig too deep yet. Should I just uninstall and reinstall the printer? Any other ideas?
