Why are D700s so cheap in the US? Amazon.com has them for $2,451.89 which is £1,470.49 whereas Amazon.co.uk has them for £1,769.93!! Why such the price difference? If only Amazon.com could post them to the UK!! :shake:

Ah ok thanks. Why are D700s so expensive at the moment, on the 17th October they dropped to £1,399 for the day :eek::gag:
 
The Jessops store in Sauchiehall St, Glasgow sell the 30 Day Return stuff from the whole group with a 1 year warranty and I've seen D700s in there, cheap. They'll do you mail order too ;)
 
Camera bodies from the US need warranty work done in the US. That's OK if you have friends over there, but for bodies, I'd rather pay the extra and have the UK peace of mind. It's just a thought, but I figure that if I can run to a £1400 camera, I can run to a £1700 one. Still, I've bought lenses and other accessories over there... I still regret not having opened a US bank account and stocking it high when we were at $2.10 to £1...
