Price shock

My daughter is getting keen on film, mainly 120.
She collects Brownies, has done for many years, not really with the intention of using them, but is trying a couple now.

She asked me what I thought was a reasonable better quality camera she could try, so I suggested a Kiev 88, (mainly so that I could use one again sold mine many years ago), and secondly last time I looked, they weren't expensive.
Now they are three times the price they were about 18 months ago, and totally out of the range of a bit of fun.

The price of film seems to have followed a similar trend, I feel for those whose main interest if film!

I have a Yashica-Mat that ironically I bought for my daughter because she wanted to get into MF film (but then couldn't afford to do it with kids and home to look after so I bought it back off her and sometimes use it with Tri-X for that gritty B&W feel. It's a good basic 120 TLR that cost less than £100 (when I first bought it) might be worth a look, no meter to worry about, no batteries just a basic mechanical camera. Caveat:- I've not looked at prices for a year or two.
