Yes
Anyone give me a clue on the above please? What sort of price would you pay for a good condition Mk2? Been offered one at £1400....

Subject to shutter count and condition that is a very good price mate.:)

Do take the chance to try it before purchasing it if possible.

Thanks mate

I take it these cameras are ok to buy 2nd hand? Built like a brick sh.......

Seems like a great price. Many on ebay are going for much more than that. I just spent £1200 on a non-N about 2 months ago and thought I had a bargain!

Oh, and to answer the question. Should last well and make a good 2nd hand buy, but I would never buy without checking out first.

Non-N? Are there three types of 1D then?

Non-N
N
1Ds

????

I wouldnt let the shutter count worry you unless its up near the 100,000 - 150,000 area, as they arent as expensive as everyone thinks to buy, approx £180 fited from Canon, (thats what my mates 1Dsmk2 was 2 weeks ago).

£1400 is not bad if its boxed etc.

Oh gawd.

So, talking mk2, what's the difference between the non-n and the n versions?

Can't afford a Ds....!

I cant remember...Nothing of major importance. Just a few upgrades to things

Thanks all

CT - didnt think it would be long before you appeared on this thread

Someone has to keep an eye on you. ;)

Don't forget there's one for sale in Classified for that price too..

The thread with all the "is he for real, isn't he for real" stuff in it? If yes, I've seen it, and have asked if it's still available...

I assume you'd agree that moving to a 1d is a good move?

Its more than a good move, Its an excellent upgrade in anyones standard..

That's why they call it a Pro body.;)

No brainer really - built in bouncability and more features than you can shake a stick at. The I Series feel like they've been carved out of a solid block of metal. ;)

Didn't stop mine from shredding at about 70k. I'm sure that's the exception rather than the rule though. I would still highly recommend one of these. Been using a 5d for the last couple of weeks and while the image quality is far better, it's nasty to use in comparison.

I'm glad you all agree.... so who's going to give me theirs for a good deal? How about a tenner?

My 5D lasted 2 weeks before it went back for a refund, image quality superb but build quality and the handling crap. When I returned mine the sales person checked to see if i had left a CF card in it and he broke the memory card door off, that wouldn't happen on the 1D series.

Great move but I hope you don't buy it before next weekend as myself and Zeeshan are shooting a wedding together and I want him to be using his 1d :)

So, differences between the 1D Mk2 and the 1Dn Mk2 are:

Bigger LCD screen
Slightly quicker startup time

And am I right in saying the 1D Mk2 won't let you zoom when viewing images on the LCD?

Totally wrong Weggy of course it zooms the images on the LCD..:nono:

I had the 1DMkII and my brother still owns the 1DMkIIN and the difference is minimal other than the bigger LCD when actually using the camera..;)

Ask anyone who has upgraded to a 1 Series camera and you won't find many wanting to go back to the smaller version 350D / 20D / 30D all be it they are very nice cameras..:)

Hmmm, very confusing as the review mentioned previously says:

"Another new feature on the camera is magnified view during Quick Review. When an image is displayed on the LCD monitor immediately after capture, the user can immediately magnify the view to check focus right away"

Or maybe he means a new feature as compared to the Mk1 1D?

I make you right - I love my 400, but feel I need to move up if I'm to progress
