Hi All
Planning a week up near Prestatyn 4th Sept (Tallacre to be precise)
Into Wildlife, scenery etc so will be mooching around up there and just wondered if anyone got any favourite places, particular viewing spots, Or anybody up there fancies meeting up during the week.

Hi Les,

A lot will depend on how far you want to travel... The lighthouse at Talacre is an obvious first stop but there's an awful lot to see locally. The mountains of the Z
Snowdonia National Park are about an hour away and there's always a trip to the Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay that's worth a visit.

Hope that helps a bit,
Si

The Gt Orme in llandudno where I am is great for getting sunsets from the summit. You have conwy marina/castle area which is about 15 miles from Prestatyn which is worth seeing. Anglesey is great, amazing beaches and a nice lighthouse at Pen Mon, with great views of the orme and puffin island from there. Aber falls at Abergwyngregyn (where I went today) is one very good waterfall to shoot and is easy to find just off the a55 headed towards Bangor, which is also the route to angelsey, so if you planned it right you could do a good loop and get to see quite a lot.

Hope this helps,

Ben

Many thanks Si and Ben your suggestions being carefully noted down so routes can be planned. We dont worry about how far places are its a case of will they still be open by the time we finaly get there after many detours /stops to take pics etc. Its actually only 2.5 hours drive from home to where we are staying but will probably take most of the day to get there Thats what happens when you have two togs on holiday together. Lol
Can you book us some good weather up there for that week please.

Hornetsting I have not been to Aber Falls, but I have been to Swallowfalls and more recently Dysert Falls and Conway Castle was nice.
