Presentation and sound studio shoot advice needed

I have the opportunity to photograph a international singer songwriter at a presentation meeting and then possibly at a recording studio.
From what i've been told other than the presentation part i'd have to be very low key at the studio (no actual recording taking place, just a tour of it)

I was thinking of taking my D600 with 24-70 (widest lens i have)and SB910 with Lastolite EZYBox and a light stand.

The presentation is to be a straight forward photo, could i just use the ezybox on the SB910 on the camera?
What would be best why to light it? bare flash bounced?

Also any ideas how to get good shots in the recording studio without making to big a fuss about lighting? should i just work with the lights there and bump ISO or try and setup a SB910 on a light stand?

Should i work in Aperture priority? spot metering?

out of my comfort zone a bit and would really like to get great shots.
i've never been in a recording studio so no idea what the light would be like.

I don't think the Ezybox and lightstand equals low key

For the presentation I would use bounced flash. If it's a shot you NEED to get then I would use manual mode - about 1/125th, f4.0, ISO 800 and bounced flash. That should pick up some ambient light plus light the subjects properly.

There is a million and one ways to work this one so I wouldn't go trying anything fancy if you don't know what you are doing. If it's only for yourself then experiment.

thanks, i know it depends on the situation/setup but trying to get any advice tips.
