Would anyone be able to recommend a powerbank? Ideally fairly compact as it's for my son and perhaps two charges of a Pixel 8, if that's possible?

I would usually be thinking Anker, but I saw that recall thread here. I'm a bit out of touch with this area since I've never needed it.

Cheers

Another vote for Anker.

I had an Anker, it swelled up and cracked the casing at less than18 months old

Fire risk is my worry as it will be in his rucksack! lol

Cheers all, I'll have a look at them all. I like the idea of a digital display to show capacity remaining.

Get a battery safe bag, not expensive and great peace of mind :)

Do Nike do one? If it not's Nike he will be beaten to death at school. :D

I have a couple of Iniu 20000mAh units. Currently selling for £27.99 less £3 voucher on Amazon. No complaints.

I have one of these which I like because it has integrated cables

There's nothing worse than having a charged powerbank but no cable because you're disorganised, so I'm happy with the tradeoff to larger powerbanks.

Note: lithium batteries on planes are meant to be limited to around 100Wh (at li-ions nomial 3.7V, that's 26900mAh) so a lot of the better known brands probably stop at that. Above that, you can try to take one on a flight at your own risk.

Integrated cables could be handy!

I use one of THESE. Torch has come in handy a couple of times too!

I use this Mophie Powerstation that I bought from Apple. More expensive than many, but has been absolutely reliable in the couple of years I've had it. I can still charge my iPhone, my iPad Pro and my Watch 8 and still have some left. So it will easily do two phone charges.
