Decided I needed another project, and inspired by Neil (mentalblock) and under pain of a serious ar*e kicking if it's an outdoor project, I've decided to keep it indoors.

So after splashing out £20.00 on props from Hobycraft, here's #1 and #2.

Main reason for the project is to keep my creative juices flowing and to ensure I get to know my 105mm better.

Thanks for looking and C&C welcome.

#1 some not so large pegs.
#2 relative size.

101 Ways to Photograph Pegs?

I cannot work out where the light is coming from on the 2nd image.
It looks like from the front, but the edge of the coins is in shadow, which I'd rather it wasn't.

101...nah, just indoor macro, with a bit of 'in the garden' macro for better lighting.

#2 was really to show the size of the pegs, but I did an edit.

Cheers.

Got a telling off from Jackie for all the water I splashed everywhere :bat:

Not easy getting a decent DOF and focus with the 105mm.

Here's a couple I liked.

#1, there are more dynamic photographs on my Flickr, but I do like the simplicity of this one. The curvature of the glass caused problems and I'll buy a square glass if I do any more similar photographs.

#2, drops of food dye in said glass. Again DOF and focusing was an issue, but I learned a few things.

Hi Mister

Love the water drop in a glass ,lovely color & shape  the only niggle is the slightly darker spots which I'm guessing may be bubbles ?

Peg in to water.......when you've sussed how to get good focus & DOF please let me know  ....I suffer the same problem with my 90mm...really need to think about doing a project like this to improve myself....just lacking in the imagination dept :'(

Sometimes it is hard to find goo macro subjects, I like the mini pegs. The first pic really works for me.

A lot of potential in the water shots.
