Again not sure if this is in right place, im a bit lost lol

I'm looking to take some nice shots of my daughter who is 11 1/2 months old, any tips on what colours she could wear, backgrounds, settings on D60 or anything else that I may need to know?

I'm a total beginner so any help is useful. Thank you very much :D x

Perhaps you could try re-posting in the People and Portraits forum?

She could wear just about anything - plain colours seem to stand out more than frilly, softly patterned clothes unless you are doing a ethereal shoot. Background - do you want to be indoors or out, using natural or studio lighting or flash. Settings - depend on lighting and whether she is static or moving.

If I was you I would do a search for "toddler" in the forum, take a look at the pictures that result and find some you like and then ask how they are done as you are not really giving enough information in your question for anyone to answer with any detail

PS I think if you post this question in the people and portraits forum it would get moved as it does not contain any pictures just questions

Sorry im completely new to this & dont really know where to start or what info is needed. Never mind :)

Try a post in the People & Portraits forum (as above suggested). However.......

perhaps just take a couple of pic's as a starter for 10 and ask for some feedback and ideas for improvement. You'll get more responces that way. ;) Its hard for people to comment on what clothes to ware if they don't know what your baby looks like etc.

I don't photograph people so there are a million people better placed to give advice on specifics of 'people shots' than me, so I'll leave that bit of advice to them.

Here is one of my little girl Daisy, I do one every month on the 25th to show how she has changed. It's a very simple set up, I put a white blanket in her baby chair and a white blanket for the background. The shot is taken with a 50mm lens and flash bounced off the ceiling.

Royston,

Lovely baby you have there and great idea on the monthly pics. Plus it shows even using little kit you can still get good results.
