Portrait Professional

Hi mark
in the same boat as you also picked up a copy at focus only had a quick play with it. You must admit they made it look good and easy on the stand.

There's 2 versions, i got the studio version, they showed me how to install it as a plug in which i've done but ps doesn't recognise it, so having to save it and go from ps to pp then back to ps etc, bit of a pain.

And yes i agree they made it look very easy on the stand, i think they obviously had pre saved settings for each image they had so as to make it look a bit more 'instant'.

Early days though.

I tried to install the 64bit plug in for Photoshop CS4 via the File>Settings menu but it gives the wrong folder in the suggested location, the box says

c:\program files (x86)\adobe\adobe photoshop cs4\Plug-Ins\

but if you have the 64bit version of Photoshop installed you have to browse to

c:\program files\adobe\adobe photoshop cs4\Plug-Ins\

If you have already installed it you just need to copy the file

PSFilterPPLauncher64.8bf from

c:\program files (x86)\adobe\adobe photoshop cs4\Plug-Ins\

to

c:\program files\adobe\adobe photoshop cs4\Plug-Ins\

Cheers
Ian

i use it - it's pretty good, so long as you don't over do it.

I have it, but most honestly say, I hardly use it. I do most of my stuff on faces in LR, although, because from a workflow perspective that is a lot easier to use. Need to check on the PS plug-in options though!

I use elements myself but i get the gist of what you're saying.. i'll have another look later.

Cheers,
Mark.

I pretty much used to do all my portraits with it, I actually preferred v 8.0 to v9.0. I like it but you have to be very gentle with it. I hardly use it much these days as i prefer Imaginomic's portraiture for skin smoothing, however the hair smoothing feature is quite useful and very occasionally face sculpting too. What I did find good was that having the studio version gave me the program as a standalone, not having to load it through PS helps.
