Interested to hear from people who use portable or collapsable backdrops and who take pictures at other peoples houses etc... What do you use and how do you find it?

I currently have a Photodeals pop up which is 2.2mx2.2m. black one side and white the other. Cant fault the product other than it being too big! Getting it up in a customers house isn't too bad but it does need a wall to rest against, or quite a deep area so I can use a stand to hold. I didnt even get it out the bag on Friday, and was a bit of a pain on Sunday. Got it up but only just and could have done with some extra depth.

I take baby/kids pics in peoples houses. I have seed a collapsable drop of 1.8x1.5 m, no train on this though. This seems to be the only option though.

Thought about a hilite but think I would have similar problems to now.

Is it necessary to use a portable backdrop at all? You could try to be a little more creative and use the client’s own furniture, room setting or garden etc and get more relaxed and natural looking shots.

I used a clients wall the other day which worked well. Not all pics are taken with the backdrop, but for occasions when I need one mine is just too big!
