Yes
I don't know if its me getting old or behind the times or what... but Im sure that a year ago on this very forum when we talked about making the colours pop... we meant giving them a good old dollop of saturation to make them really stand out.

Now people keep talking about "colour pop" as what we would call "selective colour" ie, a black and white image with a coloured object in it.

Send me to the loony bin now if Ive imagined it!!

Making an image POP to me is getting the levels, saturation, contrast, sharpness etc all right so that the subject stands out from the background almost 3D, ie POPping out of the background. Thats how i always use it anyway :)

Yes I just thought that when I looked at a car post and saw it was selective colours, I was a bit surprised looks like the definitions changed

I've always known it as selective colouring, using the term colour popping to describe it seems to be a new thing:shrug:

I'm with Ian on this one. selective colouring is selective colouring.

Yeah, i dunno who started this one off ....

Definitions didn't change, selective colour is selective colour, pop is pop whether its in a selective colour image, or an all colour image.
I think this thread could be a miss-appropriation of established terms thread, where we could have a right good Friday moan....I'm up for that:D
