This week my grandson has his end of year school sports day and swimming gala.

No cameras allowed at either event !!

I can understand this in the political correctness gone mad times we live in, but what a shame these events cannot be recorded to look back on.

seems pretty much standard nowadays............

If you search through here, you'll find tens if not hundreds of similar stories.......

Its totally....:cuckoo:

and if it's not pics of kids, it's pics of Houses of Parliament from across the Thames and threats of s44 of the Terrorism act.

My opinion is , if I were such a way inclined as to either (and let's be clear I am not) I am pretty sure that 10 mins of google and you'd find what you wanted, without the "risk" of doing it first hand......

My son is at pre-shool and when he starts school, if they refuse me the chance to photograph him then I will kick up one hell of a stink and not allow him to be any part of sports day etc... much as I would rather he takes part. Being quiet is not an option if we want this changed.

My three kids are all grown adults now but when at school we weren't allowed to photograph the end of term shows - the school had 'Pro's' in....

My job takes me into areas with both children and adults with special needs and occasionally I need to take a shot of adaptations we need to make to our products - I always ask parents permission and never get a youngster in shot.

Visited a school today - without a camera I have to say, and was made to feel extremely uncomfortable and like a criminal as I didn't have my CRB (Enhanced) Cert with me - I have a badge giving details but this wasn't deemed to be suitable.
Yet in other schools apart from 'signing in', I have wandered about lost and nobody has asked what I am doing.

When I am out with the camera I am almost paranoid about not getting kids in shot:cuckoo:

And I have just taken some shots for my daughters school at their request. It is really funny, they seem almost disappointed if I don't have my camera with me. Not all schools are the same.
