In a newspaper over the weekend, a small item saying Polaroid are to cease making film.

Pitty I quite fancied having a play after reading Lee Frosts short article on the SX-70 in Outdoor Photography.

Have half a dozen old Polaroid (including a B & W forensics/medical model) but it looks liek they'll be ornaments from now on. What a shame - Polaroid got me out of some very tricky situations in the studio when shooting on a mamiya RB67.

:(

Trust me to have just picked up a cheap second hand Polaroid camera from the charity shop 'for fun'

There's lots of chat about this on the various Polaroid Flickr groups as you can imagine. But it seems all is not lost as some Fuji instant films are compatible - Fuji seem to have no plans to stop film production at the moment?

Re: the SX-70 - apparently the SX-70 Time-Zero film was discontinued a while back - most folks have had to make do/adapt their cameras to take 600 film which can't be manipulated in the same way :(
