I would like to get my soon to be 5 year old a camera for his birthday. He has been using a very old p&s of mine for quite a while and thoroughly enjoys it but is not getting good results as the delay between pressing the button and it taking the photo is way too long.

I can afford something up to a max of about £80 and would like recommendations if anyone has any. I have so far had a look at the Olympus VG-130 as it has a re-chargable battery and can be charged from a USB lead which with a child thats not very good at turning things off is a boon!
 
Yes I want to get him a proper camera. He can use one and is starting to learn how to process them on the computer as well so would like something half decent. The kids ones are so expensive for what they are and I don't think he would be impressed by one at all (I'm afraid he quite likes my slr but budget doesn't run that far!).
 
theres a Olympus VG-130 on the bay on bids (none at the mo) starting @ £65 (new) with one day to go Olympus VG-130 in red if thats what you like the look of then why not go for that - seeing as they go for £89+ :shrug:
