Pocket Wizards or Yongnuo YN622's or ?

Hi

Until now I have always bought the best (within my budget) and not really bought cheap as usually this results in having to buy twice... However I've got a few friends who have nothing but praise for the Yongnuo YN622 wireless triggers. Does anyone have experience with these? I want to use them for a off camera set-up shooting Mountain Biking. Ideally I want 2 receives so I can have a 2 flash set-up. Can get this for £80 with Yongnuo which is very cheap compared to the Canon comparative.

Any experience with the off branded wireless flash triggers?

Hi

Just search the forum and you will see a lot of people use these the 622 and are happy with them. I use the 603 and cannot complain about them but I am just am amature.

Many recommend 622s, including me. The 622s work perfectly and are cheap enough for you to test out for yourself rather than rely on armchair forum contributions.

The Canon system is much more of a 'closed' system, which is all or nothing. I was considering 600exRT when they first launched, but have never felt the need to since runing 622s and the forthcoming 622TX dedicated transmitter will remove the minor slow UI issues that 622s suffer.

In view of your intended use, and your other thread, while YN 622 are great and wonderful value, the PW Mini/Flex system has some key advantages.

1) Peak Hypersync, allowing you to shoot above the normal x-sync ceiling by a useful amount, eg a Canon with native x-sync of 1/250sec can run up to 1/400sec with no loss of brightness.
2) Optimised High Speed Sync, increases brightness, typically by a stop or so.
3) Optimised Tail Hypersync, allowing you to adjust the exact sync timing moment and tailor it to your particular camera and flash for more light and/or less fading up the frame.
4) Optimised second curtain sync, greatly improving this technique for action shooting.

Thanks for your replies guys, looks like I've got to splash out on the PocketWizard Mini and Flex as the high speed sync options are important to me for action shooting.
