The TP52 - 2026 plloydie's 52 thread - Week 11, the colour Red

Paul, I think you need to read the guidance for the 52. You need to create your own thread for "52" images into which you post your theme images such as this one. Then you create a post in the main Images thread with a link to the post in your own thread and the actual image (which might be directly uploaded or linked to Flickr etc).
If you need any help to move /remove threads etc, just shout via the Contact Us button.

Hi Paul,

I would be grateful if you could read the guides for the 52 challenge please.
These are detailed at:

You should only have 1 thread in the challenge.
Title the thread with something like "Paul's thread - Week X - Theme name"
Change the thread name each time you add the photo for the next week :)

I've added your week 2 photo into your "eden project" thread, and changed the link from the main thread to point to it for you.
@lindsay, could you remove the extra thread "Pauls post your images here, no comments"

The point of this challenge is the community interaction.
However, if you really don't want comments, please add the tag "No Critique Required".

However, I really believe you'll get more out of the challenge if you embrace interaction.
Cheers
Tim

I've deleted the no longer needed thread and I've renamed this one in line with convention

Interesting building. Looks like the sort of thing I see on the TV in Africa or New Zealand. I wonder what the history is.

It certainly works for the theme.

I would not like to be in there in a thunderstorm, the noise must be horrendous, Love how you have integrated the telephone wires, too often the get in the way but not here. Nice

Thanks all for the replies. this is a copy and paste on a little history of the building.

Talybont on Usk

With none of the three established churches being within easy walking distance of the village, and the only alternative being the “Iron Church” a mile away at Cross Oak, a decision was made in 1911 to erect a corrugated iron building to hold services and events. It remained in use until 1970 during which time it became a versatile venue for meetings and entertainment. During WW2 an evacuated London school were taught there. As private cars became more common the old churches were accessible and, with the building of the Henderson Hall, it became redundant. In 1970 it was sold to Dulwich College to become the Wilson’s Outdoor Education Centre to be sold again in 2009.

Week 4 Something Broken.

Boa vista, Cape verda (15) by Paul, on Flickr

For more than 50 years, the shipwreck MS Cabo Santa Maria has been lying off the coast of Boavista. Today it is an important sight and a symbol for Boavista. The rusting cargo ship lies in front of the enchanting coast, right by the Praia de Atlanta beach. Over the years, the sea has gradually dismantled the ship. The current state of the shipwreck and the location has something mysterious. Very impressive!

I really like the juxtaposition between the rotting, manmade hulk, and the natural, clear, clean water and skies

Very broken!

As Adam says, nothing like that round here... mind you, I live in Bedfordshire.

Well, it's definitely broken. I suppose it wasn't economical to have it remove. The rust is a good contrast against the blue sky and sea.

Thats very very broken! As others have said, the contrast between the wreck and the sea is very striking.

Big simple shape and complimentary colors, Great!

Lovely shot of old longshanks :)
