New to Macs hence requesting fellow TPle's to suggest a case for newly bought Macbook Pro 13 inch. While googling came across this. Or is there something better out there?

Those kind of cases all tend to break in my experience... At the corners they crack and eventually fall off. Although they are good for keeping away scratches and dents they won't protect it your computer from a fall so I found it annoying in the end to put the laptop with the plastic covers inside a sleeve.
I use a Speck cover, and have done so for about 3 years. Available in different colours as well. Various outlets including the Apple store. Costs around £40 but one of the best around in my experience. If you want a carry case there are lots around, I use one from Case Logic. Slim yet holds the laptop including Speck cover plus room for back up drive and assorted cables.
My Speck case hasn't been off since it went on nearly 21/2 years ago. Just had a look and there were some white soft dust particles on the bottom of the case/computer Nothing black or similar. There is a grill on the bottom of the case to allow airflow so I guess these are how the small dust specs got in. Blew on them and the came off. Don't know where this black stuff mentioned is coming from. The top and bottom are really two self contained components no idea how anything can get to the top section as there are no vent holes. No marks on my rMBP.
Yep they do tend to break especially at the securing tabs after a couple of years, but do save innumerable scratches and dents. Not a Speck, but similar and at this price every two or three years, its well worth it. Would certainly go for another one.
I've been using an iPearl mCover hardshell case for about 2 years on a late 2012 unibody Macbook Pro. Have experienced no problems to date. Fits well, has two foldaway "feet" at the rear which allows you to have a slightly angled keyboard which I find better than dead flat.
Previously had an Incase hardshell cover on a 13" Macbook - White. Gave that machine to a friend and it is still in use. The cover has now been on it now for about 8 or 9 years. One small crack and that's it. Excellent case.
