Hi

I have pse 8 and opened it up today to PP so pics i took, and when I went to crop the pic, which is normally the first thing i do instead of having a nice arrow as my curser I have 3 symbols, I have no idea what they are or how they got there but it will not allow me to crop as it just trys to turn the pic, as if i was trying to straighten a horizon.

Please help me get rid of them as I have tried alsorts and nothing is working.

The crop tool isn't an arrow, it's a sort of overlapping double L shape, (looks a bit like a sissor jack) are you sure it was the crop tool.

Have you got a screen shot of what you're seeing?
(I'm assuming that your CAPS Lock isn't on - that normally gives you no cursor, rather than add symbols. But as above are you sure that you picked the crop tool, not "move" or something else?)

EDIT : The move tool is the top one in Wayne's screen shot above. TBH that's what it sounds most like to me.

Thanks for the help guys but it is none of those, The 3 symbols I see are

The crop one, what looks like a nunber four to the right ofthe crop one and then what looks like the number four but inverted.

So I have 3 sybols all in a row where it should just be the crop one, Hope all that makes sense, I tried a screen shot but it did not pick up the curser symbols.

Just read your post again Sahra and thats what the curser does is moves the pic but will not crop it.

Ok found what the problem was, I fitted a touch screen moniter about 2 weeks ago and I have just reverted back to my old moniter and its fine now.

So next question is, is there anything I can do to get this sorted with my new moniter, I do not use the touch screen part as I prefer the mouse, But it was a feebee and it is much better and bigger than my monitier now.

Thanks sahra but I have resolved the problem, it was the moniter, just going to see if i can plud the moniter in without it having to be touch screen see if that makes a difference.

The crop tool is shared with the slice and slice select tool (in CS5 anyway) did you by any chance have a little tiny grey box top left on your image?

To be totally honest I did not notice, its fine now i am back to normal, well the computer is as I just undid the USB lead that makes the screen touch screen, now I just have a normal screen and it works fine.
