Please help me...

Ok I took the camera out today, deciding to shoot RAW format for the first time.

When I get the camera back and load the pics onto the pc I can't get the files to open. The file name of the images is this

0017\Root\IMG_1550

I can't view them either in Photoshop or Picassa, although I can view on the camera.

Any ideas anyone?
 
Tried using the copy of DPP that came with the camera? Photoshop might just need the Camera Raw Plugin updated, and Picasa might just need an update too.

As Mark says, you need special software to open a RAW file. You should have Digital Photo Professional (DPP) that was supplied on a CD with your camera which will do the job for you :)
 
As eveyone says - you need to install either one of the softwares mentioned - since you can view them on your camera. Just a minor setback
 
What you see on the camera is a thumbnail not the actual image file.
 
Irfanview displays raw files, if you download remember to get the plug ins!
