please help me update my fuji

hi all

anyone here have the x100 series (it might also apply to other fuji cameras) and updated the firmware? i found the update and downloaded on a formatted card. the problem is it is supposed to be the case that when you turn on the camera and then press disp/back button, it shows firmware and options to change it. my camera doesn't show this. it just shows different types of displays with aperture and shutter count data among other things. it moves through options of standard and other things. any other way to see what the firmware is and or update it? thanks a lot!

Are you keeping the back button held down until the firmware update screen shows?

Edit: hold down the back button and keep it held down while you switch the camera on, if you aren't already

Yes, before you switch on, press and hold the disp/back button continually and then switch on the camera, see if that works for you.......(?).
