Please Help, corrupt CF Card

Hi,

I'm new here.

I really need some help, I just went to upload a shoot I did at the weekend and my mac is saying the card is unreadable. When I put it back in my camera it goes straight to the format card screen.

I know not to format the card.

I've tried downloading some of the image recovery software, but when I plug the card into my card reader it won't even acknowledge that I've plugged the card in, unless I open lightroom, and even then it won't read the card.

So when I try to use these programs I don't know what to select of the location of where I want to recover the files from.

They are shot in RAW.

If someone could help me it would be amazing.

sounds like you need card recovery software. <http://www.cardrecovery.com/> worked for me. You can download a free trial so if it doesn't work, nothing lost..

I think there's another recovery program that's paid for but will rescue images for free. I'll see if I can find details of that too..

Thanks for that. I had downloaded a couple of card recovery software programs... However, I can't get the card to show up on the computer at all. So I can't select it to recover the files from.

Does anyone know to to sort this?
 
Formatting the card won't stop card recovery software, I have recovered several for customers (one customer more than once) the images can be recovered fine after a format.
All formatting does is take away the index part so the card cant see the images, their still on there.
 
so if I format it, then try the card recovery software would that work? As at the moment it won't show up on my computer.
