Yes
I would like to drawer your attention to an e-petition I have started.

Earth has lost half of its wildlife in the past 40 years, not enough is done in schools to educate the future generation on the importance of the Natural World and the importance of conserving what we have left. I believe that if schools educate children in a stand alone lesson on the curriculum about these issues and teach them about all that resides in the Natural Kingdom then our wildlife may stand a chance. Plant a seed now and it will grow.

In a recent interview on the global March for elephants and rhinos, Sir David Attenborough said…

"As the dominant species on this planet it is our moral duty to protect and preserve all forms of life. For species such as elephants and rhinos to be fighting for their existence due to human exploitation and interference is unacceptable and we must do everything within our power to turn this dire situation around.

"We are responsible for the problem and we must be held responsible for the solution. It will indeed be a very sad indictment on our species if rhinos and elephants are no more, and that day will come sooner than we think if we do not take action."

More and more species are dying out each and every day.

Why? well this list taken from the WWF website sums it up;

We have…

picked,

logged,

plucked and

hunted

the

animals,

trees,

flowers and

fish

for

medicine,

souvenirs,

status symbols,

building materials and

food.

If we can educate our children NOW, we can make a change in the future, I would like all my followers, friends and family to sign and share this e-petition please.

Totally agree Matt - it is just tragic and is getting worse and worse every day, almost exponentially as mankind destroys all in it's sights ........ it can only get worse

Agree something needs to be done.

Wondering if the mods could put this on the front page and maybe Facebook?

I find it totally depressing - mankind are destroying the world with their criminal acts that they constantly get away with

There is little hope for the future as far as wildlife at all levels is concerned ……. no one can stop what is happening it has just gone too far and the world will be a very different place in 100 years time as far as nature is concerned

I'm sold, would the plan be for the lesson to be taught in progression as the kids advance with getting more detailed as they get older.

Unfortunately there isn't enough knowledge in all of us as from the amoeba to elephant there is a ecosystem that must be maintained for life to remain and these systems rely on each other.

Human beings, the greatest parasite on the planet.

Sadly even though a little cliche it is true though think we are more like a virus, have no concern for what happens to the host.

Added to my facebook too...
