Hello, and a warm Merry Christmas to you all.

Every year around this time i always think it would be nice to make a wall planner, perhaps with a picture of someone/thing in the background. I usually spend hours upon hours searching the internet until i get fed up, so this year im determined to succeed :bat:

In simple terms all i need to do is be able to create a nice clear wall planner clear enough so it can be printed poster style (over two pages on A3) All i've managed at the moment, is to find a pdf downloadable one, but all the numbers are blurry after i saved to jpeg (viewing in pdf was still poor). I started painting the numbers out in photoshop and then plan to retype over them after- surely surely surely there must be an easier way :lol: Its time consuming and boring to say the least, but at-least once ive got a nice clean image i can make several different ones very easily. Im just lowering the opacity of the calendar to 40 percent which seems to show the image off behind quite nicely yet still leaves the numbers visible.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated  If it meant buying a software which could do it all in one i'd be more than happy to do that- would make next December much easier to

Thanks

Coley

Have you tried using a simple spreadsheet program to produce the wall planner. It's not to difficult. You could try using open office which is a free program. There are even Templates available for it which may save you a lot of time

Thanks for the info John ;)

I'll have a google when i get home and see if it a 'doer'. Im sure when i got my first pc (donkeys years ago) there was something on that os that did this simply. I was never into photography then, so the thought of making a yearly wall planner wasnt even thought about. Even if i can draw it out, im guessing the process of converting the file to a jpeg, so i can use in photoshop, may reduce the quality to a unacceptable size:thinking:

Thanks

Just a quick update.

I tried Johns suggestion (open office) and could arrange the picture the way i wanted- the problem came when i tried trying to move the imported image to background- for some reason it just wouldnt work.

In the end i managed to find a pdf with the right layout. The surprise came when i opened it in elements. It did exactly what i hoped- seperating the calendar outline from the white background. Then all i had to do was layer the picture behind. Sounds very long winded, but now i know elements will open pdf's it should making yearly planners that much easier. I've done 2 different ones already and my work mates just asked for me to do another for him :bonk:

Karl, I'll try the lightroom preset at the weekend  You can never have to many wall planners

Cheers

Aldi Photo Calender £3.89

"With this big year planner in A3 format you have
a good overview every day. The calender
offers you enough space for your notes."

Im not sure whether everyone can get it but with one of my kodak printers it downloaded a software called printprojects which allows you to make your own photo calender and print one off yourself. I havent used it so dont know the full in and out of the program.
