They really are quite simple things the art is getting your movement speeds right :) I have a very similar thing in development at the moment myself :thumbs: I believe however these guys have already surpassed the funding levels that that need, this was brought to my attention this morning by a friend, it will certainly be nice to see where they take it

I am struggling to work out how the pixel art was done, I assume the LED's must change colour as you move the wand, but how does it know how fast you are moving? I am confused, but it certainly looks interesting... Does it have a motion sensor I wonder...

I guess it doesn't know anything other than executing a set of GIFs from SD card. It is the job of the artist to control the flow of motion... If you want it pixel perfect you could more or less do it in photoshop, including reflections.

It's a pretty cool looking toy. I am not sure it fits in my workflow, but many people could make some nice work with it as suggested by the level of enthusiasm
 
read about this this morning. seems interesting. I bet the speed is similar to the pad app a couple of years back where you have to judge the speed.
 
I'm tempted to buy one but my electronic engineering degree is saying no Dave, just make one yourself for less! It's a great idea but the timing has to be perfect, how many shots do you think it took to make that time lapse video! $60 USD shipping though? I would feel robbed!
