Pixapro Beauty Dish (for Profoto)

I've not used the Pixapro one but it's a generic Chinese design, you have the option of buying most other generic Chinese models and just adding the Profoto adapter which you can purchase separately. I do like the fact you get the grid and storage case relatively cheaply though, just the grid from Profoto will cost more than the whole Pixapro kit.

I guess you'd need to get your hands on it to see the quality. I'd assume its probably slightly thinner metal, but I must confess the bag looks handy. The Profoto Soflighter is a flipping nightmare to carry around!

I like the look of that bag, do they sell them separately?
edit: Found it... £55 off to check the size of my dish.
edit: My BD is the smaller one... b****r

Just ordered mine, should fit the Profoto as its a 52cm just not sure about the depth, but they offer 14 day return, lets see ;-)

Edit: Sorry I meant I've ordered the bag, not the dish.

Well I read a review that said the speeding adapter wasn't all that good, and I know if I bought it I'd be wishing I had got the Profoto one so just bitten the bullet and ordered Profoto.

I was just looking at the Pixapro BD's on ebay funnily enough. Treeman still selling your Softlighter?

Slightly related...
Has anyone bought a drum bag to store / transport a beauty dish? Looks just the ticket and a fraction of the price.

Mark I keep mine in the box it came in and find it no grief at all to transport around

That looks spot on, I’ve been pondering getting a cymbal bag/case for the soft lighter, but haven’t had chance to pop in to a music shop carrying the BD :-) Thanks for the link!
