pink hue on images...

need help...

I have a basic 22 in monitor, not a fancy lps panel or whatever its called. Now i have a monitor calibrator attached but my problem is that there seems to be a pink hue to my colour images and it has been noticed here.

i only notice this when i log into the laptop and notice the hue. Since people have noticed here i am assuming its not the laptop and its indeed a badly calibrated monitor. How do i resolve this. I have tried recalibrating and no luck. Reset the monitor to default, recalibrated and still having the same problems.

if you look at the recent pictures on my flickr photo stream you will see what i mean. I cant seem to identify whats at fault, monitor, calibrator, both?

Not really sure Lee, I am only guessing as it seems to be the first studio shoot of the young girl, maybe it is something to do with your lighting or settings :shrug:

I would say too warm if anything :shrug: Am I right in thinking you use the laptop for editing then as opposed to a pc lee?

no pc for editing and they look spot on... the laptop looks warm! other users of TP have said a prev image was warm too...

You are right they look fine on the editing pc and pink on the lappy.
not sure of the actual colour temp the monitor is set too but its the huey calibrator that i am using!

It may be that you might never get the laptop to get near you desktop monitor.

It's possible the Huey is doing it's best but possibly due to some combination of video card and screen it just can't get all three channel to respond properly.

Unikley but it may be the video card in your Laptop wont accept downloadable video LUT 's.

Are you running any other calibration software or utilities. Such as Adobe Gamma. If so uninstal it . This could be screwing things up.You need to remove it from the start up options

You could try a couple of things to see if it makes any difference.
Turn off any ambient light compensation on the Huey. I think some models had this.

Also ensure you have the latest Huey software updates installed for your OS. ( make sure that the software is compatible with your OS)

Next turn down the brightness to about half way. Don't worry if it's a bit dark , we are just conducting an experiment.

If the Huey gives you an option set the white point to 6500 or D65 Virtually the same thing just different was of displaying the Data. Now calibrate. Are the results better? If so increase the brightness to the point when calibrating makes the results unacceptable.

I it makes no difference then I'm afraid I can't think of any way to rectify the situation. It may be that you just can't calibrate your Laptop

cheers chappers but you may have got the wrong end of the stick...
On the laptop my images on the web have a red hue compared to other images say posted on flickr or here.
Someone commented on it on a prev image of mine when posted here... so it seems my main pc maybe at fault, too much red in the calibration or something.. I dont have adobe gamma installed either. However i will run your sequence to see if that helps.

for now i have tweaked the images anyway so should be good for now.

take a look at this all the boxes are white to black with grey going up 20% a time are you seeing any colour cast?

probably slightly pink on the white, the rest are fine!

just tweaked the monitor Red channel and got it looking pretty much bang on now!
