Pictures not embedded in emails in Outlook 2003

Using Outlook 2003 whenever I get an email with pictures in they always appear as attachments and not embedded in the mail.. it can be a real pain to open 10 or more pics separately.

I have made sure I have all the relevent tick boxes in the tools options.. html, show pics, etc etc.. cant understand it.

If I use outlook express it is still the same.

Isn't it up to the way the email is sent, rather than how it is received?

it is. The sender needs to insert the picture as a picture rathert than a file. In the email they should click Insert on the menu bar, then select picture not file. They should then be able to see the picture rather than an attachment.

ah.. so its not my fault then... but all my stupid friends!!

I think most of them are forwarded jokes so I cant really get to the originators.. but thanks anyway.. i will send an email asking for them to insert!!! :nono:

Outlook 2007 will show attached images below the message same as Outlook Express, Windows Mail, etc...

maybe time for an upgrade?
