Hi,

I am looking to produce an image which houses smaller images within it- along the lines of a poster or leaflet style. All will be originals taken by me, but this is not something I have attempted before through Photoshop, and I am unsure where to begin.

Does anyone have any ideas that could be of help? Any directions very much appreciated!

Kind regards,

Mike

I haven't got that much experience with photoshop, i kind of learn as I go :)

However, I guess you need to be using layers. If you don't know what they are it kind of like putting a piece of tracing paper over the top of the original image and modifying only the tracing paper in order to modify the original. The original image doesn't get touched until you decide you are happy with the final product :)

What you would need to do is to open the original image, add a new layer and then insert the second image onto this layer. You can then move tmage about to position it where you like.

I'd also suggest you resize the image you want to add on before pasting it into the layer :)

There may be easier ways but this is just how i'd go about it. :)

You don't need a new layer, if you copy and paste the second image it'll come in on it's own layer anyway, then simply press CTRL+T (for free transform) grab a corner of the top image and holding down shift (to constrain proportions) drag the corner in to resize it, when you have the size right hit return and use the move tool tp position it.
Just repeat with the other images if theres more than one, adding a drop shadow to the layers with layer styles looks nice on some projects, but it's down to what your looking for.
