as the title says

I recently shot a wedding and I am wanting to print the photos for the couple. But I don't want them to be able to take them to a place and get them copied.

Where is a good place to get my images printed with a copyright or even my company name on the rear, an possibily my unique image number incase I need to order a reprint.

I called photobox today and they say they don't do this

Images I've had from DS Coliur have filenames printed on the back, not sure about other printing, give them a call. And let me know if they do

Indeed they do, possibly maybe batch print some copyright stickers with your contact details on too?

Personally I print my own sticky labels and stick them to the back.

In Jessops we get a lot of pro photographs coming in to get copied. We're normally good at telling from sight, but if we're unsure we look at the back. Most either have: A) A sticky label, B) A sticket, or C) 'Do Not Copy' physically printed on the back.

On others, especially Kodak paper, it has 'Kodak Paper, Do Not Copy' printed on it in a tiled design.

I've been looking for rubber-stamp inkpads that'll dry instatly on prints, instead of just rubbing off, but I couldn't find any...didn't even know where to look though to be honest

i like the sticker idea.. and I have a thermal lable printer at my work.

never thought of that .

then I can manually write on the sticker the photo number...

You used to be able to get spirit based ink for stamping on non porous surfaces, but the problem was the solvent evaporated quickly from the pad. I don't think you can get this product anymore, probably some problem with the solvent.

I experimented some time ago with using a laser copier to print on the back of RC prints. It worked to a degree, but was somewhat dependant on the copier used. Needless to say it wasn't that successful.

Labels with an aggressive adhesive ( to stop them being peeled off ) may be the most practical answer

If you use lightroom 2, you can tick a box as you export to mark the images as 'copyright images', when printed show on thw back of the image along with your file number.

i put my own sticker labels on mine but if photo box print the filename on the back, call each file

©_mykweb_2009_etc_reprints_found_at_xxxxxx_ref_img_number . jpg ?

would be pretty easy to batch rename a whole lot with everything except the image number as a prefix :)
