Picture framing advice needed.

Been to see a client today to finalise plans of his architectural photoshoot that's happening over the next 3 weeks, in conversation he said he wanted give each property buyer a framed and signed signature image of the property as a way of saying thanks for spending an obscene amount of money on one of his unbelievably gorgeous properties, oh and standard framed prints for each of the contractor companies who help build the project. Ever the fool I said I can take care of that for you.

What he wants is a simple stylish frame, but not a simple wooden affair, something a little different. Rough print size around 20x30 inches.

Been looking at something like this - Acrylic frames, but at £260 a pop I'm not sure he will agree to 7 of them.

Has anyone got an ideas suggestion, examples..
 
A quick trip to a DIY centre you could probably make the acrylic one for a tenner.
Plexiglas and 4 fittings. Job done.
 
Nice thought but not quite the look I think he was after for owners of 1/2million pound beach side properties.
 
Acrylic looks great, would it fit in with the decor of the properties? I would give him a ring and ask what sort of price he was expecting to pay. £260 on a £500,000 beachside property is a drop in the ocean( :naughty:)
The blockmounts may be better, not as flashy, but I should thing they would be half the price.
I have seen some mounted on an aluminium plate. They look really good, but I cant find a supplier.
I think you need to ring him first to establish his budget.

Cheers for that Allan, at this stage budget is not an issue, I am just on a fact finding mission to get as many options as possible, before we sit down and discuss final plans on the prints.

All i really want is some ideas/suggestions or someone to say, oh yes used these guys before and they are good or no stay away not worth the materials they are printed on.

But on the subject of budget I don't think £260 will be out of the question considering I quoted high for the job and he didn't even haggle or bulk at it, merely gave it a glance and said start taking the shots next Friday ok for you!!!

Oh the other thing he would like is to be able to hand write a personal message on each finished article to the new owners. Is this possible on acrylic or even canvas??
Which is another option providing the quality is super good.
 
Yeah, never thought of that, you never know he may even see this thread and there will be no need for me to bother him during his busy day.
 
Now then :)

Have you thought about a poster board? Enhanced matt material - much more elegant than a typical gloss image.

Likewise - some textured materials have a very rich feel to them (and smell too!).

I'm not a fan at the moment of the acryllic framing. Even when done right to me, it looks very cheap.

There is a reason art galleries go for a good frame. Longevity being the main reason - and when selected carefully a good frame will never age a building :)

Maybe a very nice expensive black/silver mould, deep mounting and a textured print with no glass?

A digital signature maybe cool too as opposed to a standard sig (that may bleed!)
 
Cheers Lee, you da man, liking both ideas you put forward, the textured print in glassless frame sound very sweet indeed, any ideas on a rough price, looking for 7 large prints, roughly 30x20 inches'ish.

Hoping that you can do both of the suggestions you mentioned. Really want to give you the business.
