Here's an unselfish variation on a theme, and could hopefully serve a few useful purposes, namely;

  • We all enjoy it when people visit our images/galleries and make a comment
  • Current feeling on tP is to encourage commenting on images, and to share our images
  • the promotion of other peoples galleries and www sites rather than our own
So here's the suggestion.

You have to pick your favorite photo from the previous posters gallery/www site and comment on it. Some guidelines...

  1. No need to reply to someone commenting on your site, as this could lead to someone missing out a turn of having their images commented on.
  2. Leave a link to your site in your comments for the next poster.
Sounds easy eh... hopefully will be interesting, and will help get everyones name out there. If it dies a death then I won't be offended :)

So, since mine is the first post... I will choose someones gallery to comment on...and I choose our TP Convention organiser... Yv.
==========================================

So, I looked at Yv's Flikr site, and as I am a birder myself, I had to choose this one of a young Blackbird. Exceptionally captured, pin sharp, and fit for any bird book. Some other cracking captures there too Yv (but don't reply to this thread OK... :) see #1 above)

Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to post the image from Flikr.

Now... someone else has to pick one of mine... and so on. (It will be quite interesting to see which ones other people choose)

Let's hope this works, fingers crossed.

Good thread

I like this one as the eyes are stunning, I like the reflection too albeit a little unstraight but that's also what I like about it

There is alot to look through on your flickR Mark, if I had more time to search through your sets then this may not be my absolute favourite but I do really like it. (Shot of the lion looking straight at the camera)

Such sincerity in the Lion and perfectly posed, it's almost as if you told him to sit straight for the picture and he understood.

It's also fun to contemplate what he might be thinking.
That is a truly captivating photo, good work.

Steven.
My FlickR (only a few sets...)

This photo stood out for me as it works well in its own way for me very simple. it could have been framed in so many ways . bt you have it spot on imho

if the foot prints had been slighty deeper it would be better imho . that said it works well for me

Picked this one off your Flickr Richard,

Cracking picture with loads to look at and some nice detail in the sky too, love the statue of the big thumb bottom right.

It could maybe use a wee straighten though as it seems to lean to the left a bit, or maybe just my eyes but I really like it. ;)

Fantastic idea for a thread John and sure to get some interaction going

The detail in the eye is stunning and the moodyness of the B&W compliments it wonderfully. DOF is superp.

Breathtaking shot.

without doubt number 1 in your landscape gallery, sorry.. I didn't know how to post a pic or link directly to the image :(

The bluebells, it's such a stunning image :)

There are so many high quality Wildlife, Portrait and Landscape photograph's on Christine's website that I had a hard job knowing where to start .

In the end, I plumped for this beautiful landscape, as it's the kind of shot that I'd like to be able to capture (one day) and it also matches the shirt I'm wearing today  (I told you that it was tough to find a reason to choose one over another).

I hope that it's OK to post the actual image here, instead of the link ?, but it makes the thread look a lot more interesting, IMO.

I REALLY like this one, it made me laugh. The cars look obsurd so it draws your attention. The framing is nice, it shows both cars but also shows what's happening around the cars, but what I like most is the vantage point. One car feels like it's really comeing to me.

mine is www.redbubble.com/people/magicmynx (not much on there I'm afraid)

OK, nothing in the rules that states you can't have another go... :) (Who made the rules for this anyway, hehehe :) )

Hiya MagixMynx - I had a look at your photo art page. Not too many pics there to choose from which made the job of selecting my fav a little easier I must say. I think it would have to be this one...

Which is a simple but lovely, well composed shot of a fuschia, with excellent use of D.o.F to highlight the flower. Now get taking more pics and post them up yeah, so that next time you have a go at this there's more to choose from :):)

Too many great ones to choose from, so...
