Is there a way of 'nudging' a photo in the collage option so you can ensure an important part of the photo isn't cropped off?

It depends on how it is 'cropped off'.

You can resize and move around the images in your collage as you please. Right click on an image to put below, or on top of, other images.

Thanks for the reply - right click isn't doing anything. It's cropping top heads off in a couple of the photos if I could drag the photo downwards so the feet were cropped I would be happy. I can't seem to get the hang of manual cropping - whatever I do it seems to enlarge the photo and still places it with the head cropped off.

I'll look for an alternative.

I've been using Picasa for a long time and use it as my general photo browser even though I have LR5, CS2 & PE10. But like you I've never been able to get it to do what you are trying to do - so I gave up a long time ago

Have you tried (or is it possible with the images you are using) to make sure that they are all the same ratio as the overall collage? i.e. if all images cropped to your satisfaction are 3:2 then use a collage format of, say 10 x 15.

I was talking about the Picture Pile Collage option which keeps the image as is, but allows you yo place and resize images as you wish. The other collage options sometimes crop the images and as far as I know, you are not able to alter how the images have been cropped. You can move them around, but that's of little use if the picture's been cropped the wrong way.

The Picture Pile lets you set up how you want with just a little bit more work. Still way faster than doing the same thing with Photoshop imho.
