As per my previous post I'm currently learning photoshop after having been a lightroom user for years. I have presets in Lightroom, some of which show up in camera raw/camera raw filter and some don't. However if I turn on show partially compatible presets then all of my lightroom presets show.
If I export the raw file from LR to PS and then use the camera raw filter to add the preset it looks different to that with the same preset used in lightroom. Similarly if I open up the raw directly into PS and use the preset in camera raw (not camera raw filter) it looks the same as it does when applied in LR when using a fully compatible preset, but looks different if I use a partially compatible preset. Using the camera raw filter gives different results to that in LR regardless of whether I use a fully compatible preset or partially compatible preset, although fully compatible presets are closer to that in LR.
What is it that makes some presets compatible and some not? Also, why does camera raw filter give different results to camrea raw, is it simply because camera raw filter is using a psd file rather than a raw file?
On the subject of export, I'm sure when I used to export from LR to PS it came up with an export dialog box giving me options to edit a copy with LR adjustments, edit a copy or edit the original but that doesn't happen anymore with raw files, only jpegs, does anyone know why please? If I export from LR to another software such as topaz I still get this dialog box, although the options are greyed out apart from edit with LR adjustments, I'm not sure why this is?
Any help would be appreciated.
