Phottix Odin TTL triggers / receiver & Nissin Di866 MK II compatibility?

Never used them, but so long as TTL is supported by all the parts there should not be any problem, and the Nissins get a good review for the money.

That and it is the camera that meters and adjusts the flash(s) after all.

Doing a quick search though I can see your concern, there is no listed compatibility tests with 3rd party flashes.

Yeah I love my Nissin flashes but like you said there's no real info out there on just how compatible they are with the Phottix Odin's... not sure I'm brave enough to part with the cash until I find someone who's tested it with success :)

Doesn't the Phottix site have a compatibility list?

The problem with reverse engineered gear is that there's no guarantees it's done 100% properly. Pocket wizard list most ETTL flashguns except Yongnup, YN only list the YNs and Canon guns?

Asking Phottix if they've been tested might be a good place to start.

I don't think they've listed anything 3rd party from what I could see tbh.

I'll look in to it further though, and hopefully someone on here's used them with the Di 866 II and can give me some feedback :)

I have three DI 666:s and Odin system. Everything works except modelling light function. HSS function in bright situations may overload Nissins resulting to overheat warning and then the flash needs to be turned on manually. Overall, really pleased with this combo. Get some Sanyo Eneloops or xxx's to go with those.

Thanks for the feedback :)

I have eneloops by the bucket load so sounds like I'd be ok with these... ok now just to find the cash :D

Just to clarify, I have Nissin DI866 mkii. The first one isn't compatible with Odins as far as I know.

Could we get a sticky going with a table of wireless triggers, functions and flashguns?

Funtionality varies by camera model too, as well as brand... :(

Only thing that doesn't function is modelling light. Exposure is spot on. With firmware update, also manual remote power setting.

Topi, I have the same set-uo as you with the Di866 MKII, I have installed the latest firmware for my ODIN but can't adjust the flash power settings in manual mode. Can you tell what settings you have on you flash. I assume that is where I am going wrong. Thanks, Jim
