Hey guys and girls

I have just been up to Edinburgh Castle to get some shots for my mum for her crimbo

Took the shots on my 40d and was happy with the results

came home and checked them on my mac and I found the shots I wanted to edit. so copied the CR2 file and the jped to the desktop and opened photoshop to edit the Raw file. Photoshop then said it can't edit this file type.

So i booted up my Vista PC and went into photoshop and opened the same images. Same error. I then pulled them directly off the CF card and the same error.

I can however import the image into Canon Digital Photo Professional and then from there transport the CR2 file to Photoshop. But the image apears dull and I can't change any off the Raw properties, Hue, Colour, saturation etc etc

Can anyone help

I used to do this with my 400d and I have not installed or uninstalled any software to make the changes. Infact if I actually open a raw file created by my 400d it opens with the Raw editor before you go into photoshop. This file is also a CR2

Aggggggh

Mike

You need to download the EOS 40D RAW update patch, Google it :)

That man is a genius

LOL - I bought the 40D on the first day it was available in the UK, then had to wait two weeks for the raw update before I could see what I'd shot

Adobe have just released Lightroom 2.2 with 5Dll support. Probably beat most supplies of the camera

Or you could use the software that came with the camera - DPP

Yes that what my link is to, a DPP tutorial, it's about time people realized Adobe do not rule the world and we don't have to use their over priced software. :)
