Hello All,

My Photography GCSE will cumulate with a 10 hour examination on Thursday/Friday (9th/10th May). This will largely consist of a VERY long Photoshop session and I will be needing some musical accompaniment.

I have decided to create a Spotify playlist, which I can access from the school's computers. I have already added 136 tracks, but I would love to be introduced to some more music.

if you have a look at the playlist, you should see what sort of stuff I like (mainly 'Alternative' and 'Ska' music) but I really am open to new suggestions and will listen to anything you submit.

Anyone can alter the playlist, so just drag and drop your picks into it. the playlist can be accessed by anyone, so we all have a post processing soundtrack. Alternatively, you can type your song tiles/artists into the thread.

I will also be Alan Partridge audio-book during the exam, so hopefully that and the playlist should fill my time!

Cheers,

Sid.

not sure what you have on your list but here are a few bands I listen to:

Alternative

Pearl Jam
Incubus
Black Keys
Machest orchestra
Smashing pumpkins

Ska,

Popes of Chilly town (uk SKA Band very good live)
Toot's and the Maytals - pressure drop or monkey man if you haven't listen to them before
The Specials
Choking victim
No Doubt
The Aquabats for some thing childish - Pizza day is cool but might not be to your taste
Less than Jake
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Rancid
Reel Big Fish

from a more Reggae side (DUB) not to be confused with dub step try Easy stars all stars they cover classic albums like radio heads ok computer and The Beatles Sargent peppers lonely hearts club band.

If this doesn't help you use a site called Music Map you put in a band name and it pulls up others like the one you put it. Great way to find new music and has directed me to things like the black keys and manchester orchestra.

I think you would enjoy Rush. Anything from late seventies and early eighties, recommend the album Moving Pictures, their best IMHO.

Enjoy and good luck with the exam.

I used to 'use' music - but found vocals somehow pulled my attention away from what I was doing.

Instrumental or perhaps soundtrack music always got me into 'the zone' without being distracted.

Ozric Tentacles, The Orb, KLF Chill Out

Plenty of good stuff with vocals too though.

Go for long calm stuff.

Pink Floyd Echoes, Cowby Junkies etc

Added some for you :-)

Bit of rock and ska, plus some crossovery type stuff.

I was gonna be mean and put some cheesy 90's pop, but I dont want to ruin your exam!

And another.

"My uncle has a country place, no one knows about. He says it used to be a farm before the motor laws"

Nice, but I thought "wide-angle watcher on life's ancient tales" was more appropriate!
"The focus is sharp in the city."

Thanks a lot for all of the replies. I have listened to a few - some great new finds! I will listen to all of them during the exam, this is a big help.

Please feel free to add more suggestions.

Cheers,

Sid.

Have a few from me.

I put some mainly dancey ones on last night - will probably pick a new genre later and add some more
