I recently installed an add on for photoshop... some niK software plug in, and since then i have had loads of problems with cs4. I cant open files, the option is blacked out, or do anything else, unless i click on a different tool... ie if I select paint brush, then select eraser, it will then give me the options. Any tweaks i do do not show, again, unless i select a different tool... new layers in the pallet, for example a copied layer will just appear like a dotted box unless i again choose a different tool.

i have re-installed, and the same problem is there. Nik software has been uninstalled, and am at my wits end. any ideas?

I know nothing about Nik software but I have had some of theother problems you mention

Options blacked out are often if I open as a 16 bit instead of 8 bit file

Tweaks not showing - are often because I have hidden (Ctrl+H) a selection so I can see what I am doing and forgotten to unhide (Ctrl+H again) and close it.

No idea if this will help but if not then try contacting the company who supply the software?

anyone else able to help? still not able to work with cS4 properly :(

Can you uninstall and then reinstall the plugin?
