Photoshop printing blues as purples

For some reason photoshop has begun printing blues as magenta.

At first I thought that a plug-in that I was using had done some jiggery pokery but the effect is the same if I open a new document and fill it with blue paint.. it prints out in pink.

I have never really bothered with colour profiles and the like and have bumbled along for years with the default settings. Anyway just in case I have reset all of my photoshop settings.. and the problem is still there.

None of the settings on the printer or the software have changed (that I know of) although the ink cartridge was recently changed.

Has anyone had any experience of photoshop printing out blues as magenta.. OR has the ink shop flogged me a magenta cartridge in a blue box?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have you checked for blocked nozzles in the printrer?
 
Ok...

I could just say... oh yeah that fixed it and probably not have to face the ensuing ridicule.

Or.... I could just admit to having not removed the damn tape that covers the squirty hole!!!!!

Oh well I didn't want the 6 hours or 7 sheets of photo paper that I just spent trying to correct this problem.

What is your printer, you should be able to run a nozzle check program that will print a series of patterns to see any blockages.
 
OOps, well you won't do it again will you:)
 
MUwahahaha

If your in the market for saving ink it might just be easier to leave the lens cap on in the first place.... :)
