If I make a lot of changes in photoshop the history panel won't show the early changes, maybe showing the past 40 or 50 changes, if using a brush I might use this 10 times to dodge and burn let alone clone stamp, curves, etc etc. Is there a way to allow you to see the entire history? I've been into preferences and I can't see anywhere that limits the history panel

You can select the number of steps it remembers, off the top of my head it was 30? but the more steps you choose the more memory it uses. It's in preferenecs somewhere, but I dont have photoshop where I am to check for the moment.
Edit it migh be under proformance?

Settings -> Performance

You're looking for History States. Mine is set to 50 and don't think I've ever changed that.
Thanks very much, I was looking in the wrong place :facepalm:
