Hi All, I am trying to create a gif banner in photoshop, it is a simple one with a little icon and some text.

My problem is the text, is always rubbish quality. I don't know how to type good quality text in photoshop.

Anyone help?

Thanks

On my weather site mine turned out ok. Make sure you click anti aliasing (spello?) when text tool is selected.

When you have all the text in place, double click on the text layer. This will open a window with all kinds of manipulations that you can do. Have fun.

Gerods, I am trying but all the layer options are greyed out. I still have a swirling line effect on the text I have just placed though and can't get rid of it.

Any ideas?

Thanks

When you choose the text tool, this should automatically open a new layer, highlighted in blue. Double click on the highlighted text layer, in your layer palette. Hopefully someone can put up a screen shot ,that may help you. Forgot to mention that when you click on the layer make sure your pointer is on the solid blue. not on the text itself.

So Anti Aliased has nothing to do with it then.... sorry

From the Help menu in Pse:

Anti-Aliased aa: Applies AA to make text look smoother

Then maybe add bevels, shadows from the layer styles menus.

Then SAVE FOR WEB (not save as) make sure GIF is the selection in the box and that should do.
