Yes
I own Photoshop Elements 10 and was looking at maybe upgrading to CS5. I was looking at the Adobe site when the live chat screen appeared.

I had a chat with Agent Ralph, who says it is impossible to upgrade from Elements to any of the CS products as they don't have the software to do it.

I would have to buy CS6 outright at about £700!

Is this right?

They are 2 separate programs. You can only upgrade CS to CS. Elements you don't upgrade, just buy the new one. It may be worth downloading the demo and seeing if you like CS6 before splashing out. It gives you 30 days full functionality.

Thanks but not what I wanted to hear! :D

£700 is just out of my bracket I'm afraid. If I had that much available I'm pretty sure it would go on a lens.

Thanks again.

They quite often have offers for elements users to buy Photoshop CSX at a reduced price.

What do feel is restricting you in elements?

They do a student/teacher licence if you have children in school I think it's 190

That is a very good question! :D Probably nothing, maybe I just don't know enough about it and I am missing something.

I just look at some of the work on here produced in CS5 etc and think WOW!

If it was only a small amount to upgrade from Elements 10, then I would probably have gone for it.

Thanks.
