Think this is in the right place, but ??

Father-in-law would like new version of PE 8 - running 4 / 5 at the moment, seen it on Amazon for around £57, does anyone know of anywhere else doing better deals

Thanks in advance

Amazon was the best when I bought mine before Christmas. Do make sure you have plenty of ram though. My laptop with 1gb ram slowed down to a snails pace when I installed it.

Thats interesting to know, will have a look at what he's running. Will have a look to see what v 7 memory requires.

Thanks

PSE7 insts. say a minimum of IGb is required, but you need to take account of what else will be running on the PC simultaneously.
I had just 1Gb when I installed PSE7 and it ran OK. I increased the RAM to 3 Gb and it ran faster.

I had v7 before, and found it excellent. I only upgraded as I bought the photoshop/elements combination to try video editing. Wish I hadnt bothered!

Sorry to highjack this thread, but does PSE 8 work ok on Windows 7. I have seen some comments that it might have a few problems but I can't find out for sure.

Am hoping someone has used it first hand and has no problems before I buy it.

Thanks.

Not a problem, According to Adobe, PE 8 will work with Windows 7 fine,

Hi Gary,

re my earlier comments. After having problems with PSE 8 on my old laptop, I upgraded my work laptop to one with Windows 7 and slow running problems were solved. - the extra 3mb of ram helped a lot as well!
