Hi all i have just started today to try shooting in RAW but i have a problem.

My Photoshop Elements 7 will not open my NEF file. I get a box saying it cant open it as it's the wrong type of file, any idea's???
 
Ok thanks i did run the program update but it did'nt pick it up.

This problem seems to be linked to newer Nikon cameras.
I have PSE7 and it opens the NEF's from my Nikon D70 no bother.
I just double click on a NEF file and it opens in Camera Raw ready for editing.
 
My dads NEFs open fine in PE7 with the latest RAW. 5.3 I think it is.

He has a D300.
