How do you guys get on with Photoshop elements 11?
I've just got it for christmas and finding it a little bit more difficult than anticipated

Is it worth getting a guide book or something? Which one do you reccomend??

I (still) use Elements v6 which does what i need and when i began using it I found the Dummies books really helpful. I'm not sure if one is out for v11 yet.

I have just ordered Elements 10 from kerso - good price ;)

Many years ago, an old neighbour of mine used Photoshop professionally.
I learnt more off him in 30 mins, than in all the years that have since passed.
If direct tuition is available, you just cannot beat it.

type into you tube
you will learn a lot there

I use Photoshop rather than Elements, but a lot of the basics are exactly the same. The first time I installed it I just couldn't get my head round it, so promptly uninstalled it. When I finally got round to loading it back onto the PC, I took the time to go through various tutorials that can be found on Youtube and similar, and haven't looked back since.

If you can learn how to use layers and masks, that should give you a good grounding to build on.

I've used a couple of Scott Kelbys' and Philip Andrews' books over the years and generally like them. The frustrating thing sometimes is to be able to find what you want to do exactly as it can be buried with other information.

If you can, pop along to a local library and see f they have any books - might not be PSE11, but would give you some info and also allow you to look at the style of book to see if you like it or not...
